Cardiothoracic surgeon uses 3D printed heart to perform life-saving (and time-saving) infant heart surgery

Sometimes it requires thinking outside the box in order to save a life. This Cardiac surgeon had to complete an extremely difficult procedure on a small child, and practiced the procedure by 3D printing a replica of his patient’s heart! It only cost $600 and shortened the operating time & reduced exploratory incisions!!
