Surgical robot use criticized in new report

The use of the da Vinci surgical robot in benign gynecology has been controversial. A recent study showed that robotically assisted adnexal surgeries (such as an oophorectomy) had slight increased rates of complications (though statistically insignificant) and costs almost double that of the equivalent laparoscopic method.
