Is a restrictive transfusion strategy safe in cardiac surgery patients?

The TRICS III study suggests that, yes, transfusing for a hemoglobin goal of 7.5 is just as safe as transfusing for a goal of 9.5. This randomized controlled trial could change cardiac surgery practice with it’s results.
