Study from Isreal compared clinical outcomes of 33540 obese patients after laparoscopic banding, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, or laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy vs nonsurgical usual care management. Nonsurgical obese patients faced double the risk of mortality at median follow up of 4.5 years further validating the long term benefits of bariatric surgery.
