How effective are mental health apps?

A new study out of Liverpool contends that most mental health apps are not evidence based or clinically effective.  There were 4 apps that were proven to be effective – Big White Wall, Moodscope, Happyhealthy, and WorkGuru.  Researchers express concern that overselling apps’ effectiveness and utility can actually deter people from seeking medical attention and further fueling anxiety surrounding their mental health.
