Method to map craters on Mars used to assess tumours

Researchers are applying machine learning technology used to map craters on Mars to predicting patterns and changes in small sets of data in cancer research.  The technology is called Linear Poisson Modelling and the implications in oncology are that it can help draw conclusions from smaller sets of data, ie specific patients on a chemotherapy regimen and less mice per experiment for analysis of drug efficacy.
