Virtual Reality May Help Patients Deal With Pain

Researchers at Stanford have created a virtual reality program to help reduce pain in children undergoing certain medical procedures like IV placements and wound dressing changes. While improvements can be made on the simulations patients are exposed to, this exciting new application may help anxiety-provoking hospital procedures become easier and more pleasant.
